BlackBerry Messenger Launches Video Chat Feature? BlackBerry Messenger to be one of the flagship feature on
the BlackBerry device. Reportedly, Research in Motion (RIM) as the BlackBerry
maker will add new features in messaging services, namely video chat.
A PowerPoint slide that reported from RIM leaked to various
web technologies. The slide show that BlackBerry Messenger will be equipped
with new capabilities, such as video chat or video calls and share images on
the screen or screen sharing.
Quoted from Cnet, Friday (12/28/2012), it seems that
BlackBerry Messenger with video chat capability, only available on phones with
BlackBerry OS 10. BlackBerry 10 will be formally introduced by RIM in late
January 2013.
BlackBerry 10 operating system is a big gamble to restore
the glory of RIM in the smartphone market. No wonder this Canadian company
heavily in developing it.
More recently, RIM also has presented BlackBerrry Messenger 7
with new capabilities. Mainly voice calls over Wi Fi networks.
