BlackBerry 10 Safer than other platform. Concerns about security issues on mobile devices increased
recently as more and more malware targeting smartphones and tablet devices.
Even so, the Research in Motion (RIM) as the manufacturer of
BlackBerry 10, is confident that its flagship platform will not be plagued by
security problems.
"Because the BlackBerry 10 operating system is built on
QNX micro-kernel that safety has been tested for decades," said Developer
Relations and Ecosystem Development Vice President of Research in Motion, Alec
Saunders interview session BlackBerry Jam Asia 2012 in Bangkok , Thailand .
He added, QNX base has also been used in many different
industries, including the military and automotive.
Saunders assured that BlackBerry 10 will be a secure
platform for the user. "Unlike other platforms," he added.
To ensure that claims about security, RIM also has a
filtering mechanism for applications to be uploaded to the app store BlackBerry
10. "Among other things, certification of 'Built for BlackBerry'," said
Saunders.
Early last November, along with the operating system
BlackBerry 10 devices certified by the Federal Information Processing Standards
(FIPS) 140-2 provided by the U.S. National Standards and Technology. This is
the first time a BlackBerry product get FIPS certified before its commercial
debut.
This certification helps improve the reputation in the eyes
of customers and government agencies as a device that meets safety standards.
